Landfills Offer Renewable Energy

WOW!  Pheasant Point Landfill in Omaha Nebraska has a company that is using common everyday waste and debris to produce a form of renewable energy.  This renewable energy provides enough electricity to power over 4,400 homes.  This is one of over 130 similar facilities across North America. These facilities provide over 650 megawatts of power capacity. 650 megawatts is enough to power nearly 500,000 homes and displace the equivalent of about 2.5 million tons of coal each year.
